Where it all Began…………..
After leaving school there were only two career paths for me…the Household
Cavalry or equine therapist. Being a devoted horsey gal who didn’t do well with
being told what to do, I enrolled in my first equine therapy course. I studied for my first course with Equinology, gaining my Equine Body Worker qualification
aged 17.
Following this I qualified as a Therapeutic Massage Therapist. Initially I
practised on friends and family as a way to develop my skills as an equine
massage therapist, it quickly transpired my magic hands were in demand with
humans too!
Taking it to the Next Level
Having a passion for treating the body holistically, addressing both aspects of
the musculoskeletal system, I enrolled at the European School of Animal Osteopathy. After 3 years studying and working as the travelling equine therapist for Team China at the 2012 London Olympic event, Kingsbridge Equestrian was founded. Taking it Abroad!
Fast forward a few years and an invitation to treat the horses for Swedish Team rider, Therese Viklund, whilst she was based in the UK for a season. After a successful season, I flew out to Sweden to continue treating her horses back at home. Therese kindly introduced me to her local contacts and the rest is history as they say! Kingsbridge Equestrian Sweden has continued to grow over the last 3 years with an abundance of success stories, cake, coffee and laughter!
EquiTem – the Culmination of Experience and Expertise
Two shoulder injuries, a global pandemic and a PureStretch qualification later,
EquiTem was born. Translating from Latin as ‘Equi’ meaning Horse, ‘Tem’ meaning Rider, the vision
for EquiTem is to offer world class services in performance solutions for
equestrian athletes. EquiTem’s mission is to provide a synergistic approach to
fitness and performance therapy to optimise performance for both horse and
rider.
